Untimely Hitting Late in Game Costs Sweep

The Mets dropped the series finale against the Brewers tonight, but took 2/3 in the series nonetheless. Robert Stock was more than serviceable in his Mets debut, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 5 batters. Besides the 2-run homer that he gave up to Manny Piña in the second inning, Stock limited the damage from that point on and kept the Mets in the game. The Mets just had trouble getting any semblance of offense throughout the night. With that said, this was a great series overall, taking 2/3 against a red hot Brewers team that won 11 of their past 12 games coming into the series. The Mets have a golden opportunity to separate themselves in with their first place lead in the NL East before the all star break with a 4-game home series vs the Pirates starting tomorrow!

Stock Makes Mets Debut as New York goes for the Sweep

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the doubleheader tonight! The Stockinator makes his starting debut tonight after being claimed off waivers by the Mets on June 22th. Stock started one game for the Cubs this year on June 16th that happened to be vs the Mets before he was designated for assignment on June 20th. Against the Mets in that one outing, Stock went 4 innings, allowing 4 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 batters. Either the Mets like what they saw from Stock in that outing or they just scooped him up due to the injuries to David Peterson and Corey Oswalt. Either way, he will be making his starting debut for the Mets tonight vs the Brewers. As for the game 2 lineup tonight, Jonathon Villar, Kevin Pillar, Jose Peraza and James McCann are all starting in tonight’s game for Luis Guillorme, Brandin Nimmo, Jeff McNeil and Tomas Nido, who all started in the first game. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Peraza and McNeil Play Rally Ball in Game 2 of Series

Put it in the books! The Mets defy the odds in game 1 of the doubleheader by actually coming back in a deGrom start and tying the game vs Josh Hader, who was 20 for 20 coming into the game in save situations this year! deGrom allowed 2 solo homers today, but was magnificent besides those 2 earned runs, pitching 7 innings, while striking out 10 batters on 4 total hits. Jose Peraza and Jeff McNeil were the clutch hitters in this comeback, as Peraza hit a solo homer off Josh Hader to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th, while McNeil had the walk-off hit in the bottom of the 8th. As expected, in the non-save situation, Edwin Diaz bent but didn’t break, allowing the Brewers to go up 4-3 in the top of the 8th by hitting Christian Yelich with a pitch with the bases loaded. The Mets wouldn’t quit despite the Brewers taking the lead again, as Jeff McNeil delivered the walk-off RBI-single up the middle that scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and ultimately won the game for the Mets! Game 2 of the doubleheader is tonight at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

deGrom Versus Burnes in Game 1 of Doubleheader

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the series vs the Brewers and game 1 of the doubleheader today! Due to the game being postponed yesterday, the Mets are going up against Brewers stud Corbin Burnes instead of Brett Anderson in the day game today. Luckily the Mets still have de🐐 pitching in game 1, so expect a thrilling pitcher’s duel between de🐐 and Burnes today. As for the lineup, Tomas Nido is starting in game 1 today, while McCann will presumably start in the night cap of the doubleheader tonight. First pitch for game 1 of the doubleheader is at 2:05 PM EST on SNY!

Clutch Hitting in the 7th Gets the Job Done in Game 1 Against Brewers

Put it in the books! A day after having the big hit off Aroldis Chapman yesterday, Pete Alonso delivered another big hit tonight in the bottom of the 7th. Tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 7th, Alonso hit an RBI double that scored 2 runs and put the Mets up 3-1. Following that, Conforto got Alonso home with an RBI single that put the Mets up 4-1 going into the 8th inning. These were the runs the Mets needed because Edwin Diaz put himself into a jam in the 9th inning. Diaz allowed an RBI-single that put the Brewers within striking distance by a score of 4-2. After that RBI-single, it was still 1st and 2nd 0 outs. Despite having 2 runners on with 0 outs, Diaz cleaned up the own mess he made, striking out the next 2 batters and getting a fly out to left to seal the 4-2 victory! It always seems like a sweat with the bullpen, but Diaz bailed himself out of trouble be created. Tomorrow, the Mets have de🐐 on the hill vs Brett Anderson at 7:10 PM EST!

Red Hot Brewers Come to Town as Megill Takes the Bump

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of a 3-game series at home vs the Brewers! The red hot Brewers won 11 straight games prior to losing to the Pirates yesterday. The Mets offense seemed like they found a spark as a team offensively in the Yankees series, but tonight will be a tough task against Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff, who has been magnificent this year. With that said, the Mets got to Yankees ace Gerrit Cole yesterday and they finally have most of their starters back (Nimmo and Villar), so maybe the offense can prove us wrong against Brandon Woodruff. Tylor Megill takes the hill for the Mets tonight. His first 2 MLB games against the Braves were pretty good, the 4.82 ERA is misleading. He attacks the strike zone, isn’t afraid to go after hitters and has a high strikeout rate. Look for him to continue that tonight vs the Brewers. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Doubleheader split, Mets walk away with Series Win Against Cross Town Rivals

It was quite an eventful doubleheader split in the Bronx today between the Mets and the Yankees. It seemed like Game 1 definitely wasn’t going to go the Mets way after a Francisco Lindor blunder on a double play in the bottom of the second inning that the Yankees scored 3 runs on that inning. The Bronx Bombers tacked on another run in the 4th inning to make it 4-1, but the Mets rallied and got to Yankees ace Gerrit Cole in the 4th inning. Lindor, Nimmo and Nido all had RBI singles off Cole that tied the game at 4-4 in the 4th inning. The Yankees took a 5-4 lead again in the bottom of the 5th inning, but Pete Alonso struck in the top of the 5th, hitting a solo shot off Chapman to tie the game at 5-5. The Mets would proceed to break the game open after that homer, with 6 runs in that same inning, which put the game to bed. The second game of the doubleheader was just one to forget, as it was primarily a bullpen game and the Mets had to start Corey Oswalt. With that said, Mets fans should be more than satisfied taking 2/3 against the Yankees in the Bronx.

Stroman vs Cole in Game 1 of Doubleheader

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the Subway Series! The Mets have a doubleheader vs the Yankees today, as the first game is at 2:10 PM, while the second game is at 7:08 PM EST. Billy Mckinney, Tomas Nido and Luis Guillorme are all in the lineup for game 1 of the doubleheader today after being out of the lineup yesterday. First pitch for game 1 of the doubleheader is at 2:05 PM EST!

Nimmo Sparks Offensive Resurgence as Mets Take Game 1

Put it in the books! The Mets take game 1 of the Subway Series in the bronx by a score of 8-3! This was arguably the most well-rounded game the Mets have had all season. Despite a few runner in scoring position hiccups in the first 3 innings, the Mets were clicking on all cylinders from the pitching, hitting and defense. Taijuan Walker dominated in this game as he has all year, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 5 hitters. He pitched 5 no hit innings until Aaron Judge hit a homer in the 6th inning. The offense served him well, delivering 8 runs on 14 hits for him. Brandon Nimmo left right where he started off in his return from the IL, going 3 for 6 with 2 runs. Dom Smith was the other biggest contributor offensively, going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI’s! The Mets face the Yankees again tomorrow in a doubleheader, as the first game is at 2:05 PM, while the night game is at 7:05 PM.

Nimmo Returns Just In Game 1 Of Subway Series

Here is your pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of the Subway Series! Last night’s game was postponed due to the weather, which means there will be a doubleheader tomorrow. Brandon Nimmo makes his long awaited return to the lineup after being out a month with a left finger injury. Taijuan Walker makes his first Subway Series start as a member of the Mets today! He will be going up against Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery who will be taking the hill for the Yankees in today’s matchup. Let the battle of NY begin! First pitch is at 1:05 PM EST and can be seen on Pix 11 or MLB Network!

Nimmo Activated off of IL

After a month of uncertainty regarding Brandon Nimmo and his finger injury, he’s finally back after a month!! Not only is he back, he’s batting leadoff tonight for the Mets in the first game of the subway series! Nimmo was placed on the 10-day IL about a month ago with a left finger bone bruise. He was out longer than initially expected, but he’s back just in time for the Subway Series! Glad to have you back, @bnimmo24!

Mets Lose Heartbreaker as Freeman Hits Walkoff

It’s quite ordinary by now that when Jacob deGrom takes the mound you have to expect either A) They won’t hit for deGrom or B) the bullpen will blow it for deGrom. The entire game option A was happening- they weren’t hitting for him. While that was the case for 6 innings, Dom Smith tried to single handily changed that narrative, hitting solo bombs in the 7th and the 9th inning. So option A was being solved as the offense tied it at 3-3, but option A can’t happen without option B following suit in a deGrom start. The inevitable happened - the bullpen blow it in the 9th for deGrom. It’s hard to get on Lugo for blowing the game because he’s our most reliable reliever all year, it’s just infuriating how the Mets either can’t hit for deGrom or the bullpen will blow the game when he pitches. Tough series loss. The Mets will look to turn things around for the Subway Series this weekend at Yankee Stadium.

deGrom Day as Mets Look to Get Anything Going Against Anderson

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup as the Mets look to wipe away last night’s debacle and win the the series finale tonight vs the Braves. After 12 starts of giving up 1 earned run or less and going 27 straight innings without giving up a run, Jacob deGrom finally showed that he was human last start, allowing 2 earned runs in 6 innings pitched. 2 runs or less is the amount of runs that he will be hoping to give up tonight, this time just without the 0 like yesterday’s amount of runs (20). The Mets have had success against Ian Anderson this year, but let’s see if that comes to fruition with deGrom on the mound tonight. First pitch is at 7:20 PM EST on SNY!

Pitching Blows Up, as Mets Lose 20-2

The Mets lose game 2 to the Braves by a football score... This game doesn’t even warrant a full postgame based on how embarrassing the Mets were today. Just when we thought David Peterson was rounding into form, he reverted back to his early-season self, allowing 8 hits and 5 earned runs in just 3 innings pitched. Reid-Foley didn’t have much success either after Peterson left the game, allowing 4 earned runs in 0.1 innings pitched. Once the pitching got obliterated, the offense was nowhere to be found, with 4 total hits vs Max Fried and the Braves bullpen. The Mets will look to completely wash this loss away going into tomorrow against the Braves with de🐐 on the mound. First pitch is at 7:20 PM EST.

Peterson Looks to Keep Building Momentum Into Game 2 of Series

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the series in Atlanta! After looking like his season was going to be hindered by a sophomore slump, David Peterson has completely turned a corner. In his last 3 starts, Peterson has only allowed 2 earned runs and 6 hits in 16.2 innings pitched. He has 14 strikeouts and a 1.08 ERA over that span. Peterson will be going up against Braves starter Max Fried, who was dominant in his last outing against the Mets in late May, pitching 6 innings, allowing just 5 hits and 1 earned run, while striking out 8 batters. The Mets will look to fare better this time around against Fried, but that will be at the expense of not having Jeff McNeil in the lineup. McNeil is resting tonight, while Jose Peraza gets the start at 2nd base. First pitch is at 7:20 PM EST on SNY!

McCann Deliveries 3 Run Game Tieing Homerun as Mets Take Game 1

Put it in the books! The Mets take game one of the series in Atlanta in comeback fashion! After a 3-run homer by Ozzie Albies in the 5th inning, it seemed like the Mets were dead in the water, particularly with the way Morton was mowing down Mets hitters like he did at Citi Field last week. The Mets had 0 runs vs Morton through 6 innings until James Mccann came to the rescue. In the top of the 7th, Mccann hit a 417 foot 3-run bomb to left center field to tie the game at 3-3. Francisco Lindor came up clutch after McCann’s homer in the 7th, delivering an RBI single to center field to put the Mets up 4-3 in the top of the 7th. Edwin Diaz shut the door in the 9th for his 17th save of the year, which locked up the 4-3 victory for the Mets. The Mets play the Braves again tomorrow at 7:20 PM EST, as David Peterson takes the hill vs Max Fried.

Mets Open 3 game Series Against Braves

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for the start of a 3-game road series vs the Braves! Tylor Megill will be getting his second career start today after facing the Braves at Citi Field last week, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 4 batters. The Mets will be going up against Charlie Morton, who dominated the Mets at Citi Field last week, giving up just 1 total hit and 0 earned runs in 7.0 innings pitched. He struck out 11 batters as well. As for the Mets lineup tonight, it looks the same as its been the last couple of games. Hopefully the Mets can finally break out of this offensive funk! First pitch is at 7:20 PM EST on SNY.

Mets Can't Contain Schwarber as they Give up 8 Runs in Loss

The Mets continue to lose at the hands of Kyle Schwarber and his home runs... He hit another 2 homers vs the Mets tonight, which puts him at 15 homers in 17 games. He also has now hit 7 homers in his last 3 games vs the Mets. Truly unbelievable. The Mets offense continues to be a major problem, particularly with runners in scoring position. The Mets were down 5-1 and cut it to 5-4 with homers by Alonso and Mckinney in the 8th, but in the bottom half of the inning Ryan Zimmerman hit a 3-run homer off Miguel Castro to make it 8-4 Nats. The Mets head to Atlanta tomorrow for the start of a 3-game road series vs the Braves at 7:20 PM EST.

Eickhoff On the Bump as He Tries to Cool Down Hot Nats

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup vs the Nationals! Jerad Eickhoff makes his second start with the Mets after holding his own in his first start vs the Braves at Citi Field, allowing just 3 hits and 0 earned runs in 4 innings pitched. The Mets will be going up against Paolo Espino of the Nats, which means it’s going to be a bullpen game for the Nats tonight. Pat Mazeika will be making his first career start in the big leagues at catcher as well! First pitch is at 7:05 PM EST.

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup vs the Nationals! Jerad Eickhoff makes his second start with the Mets after holding his own in his first start vs the Braves at Citi Field, allowing just 3 hits and 0 earned runs in 4 innings pitched. Errors and Bats Cost Mets Series Split

The Mets drop the series finale by a score of 4-2, but split the series vs the Phillies nonetheless. It was evident from the start of the game that Marcus Stroman didn’t have it today, with shaky command. This was his shortest start of the year, as he only went 3 total innings. The Mets best chance to score off Wheeler was in the first inning with 1st and 3rd 1 out, but the offense couldn’t capitalize in that situation. The Mets ended up getting 0 runs off Wheeler, while their 2 late runs came vs the abysmal Phillies bullpen. Despite the loss, the Mets remain in first place by 4 games over the Nats and travel to Washington tomorrow for one game vs the Nats.

Mets Look To Take 3-1 Series Against Wheeler and Phillies

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for the series finale vs the Phillies today. The Mets will be looking to take the series but that will be at the expense of former teammate Zack Wheeler. Luckily the Mets have Stroman on the hill today to give us a chance instead of Jerad Eickhoff. First pitch is at 1:10 PM on Pix 11!

Conforto Hits Walkoff as Mets Rally in 7th Inning

Put it in the books! The Mets win off a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th inning by Michael Conforto! Diaz made things very dicey in the 9th inning for the Mets, as he allowed runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 outs. Luckily he only allowed one run which made it 3-2 phillies in the top of the 9th, but the Mets picked up Diaz in the bottom of the 9th, with a Luis Guillorme bases loaded RBI walk and this sacrifice fly walkoff by Michael Conforto!

deGrom Day as Mets Look to Take Momentum into game 2

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 3 of the series vs the Phillies! Happy deGrom day! We are witnessing something special here with degoat, as he has a record setting .050 ERA on the season and has gone 27 straight innings without allowing a run. Even more shocking, he still has more RBI’s (6) than earned runs (4) on the year. Just mind boggling. Today, he goes up against a Phillies lineup without Didi Gregorious, Alec Bohm and Jean Segura. The Mets are going up against Zach Eflin, who’s been more than hittable this year. First pitch is at 4:10 PM EST on Pix 11!

Dom Smith Hits Walkoff, as Mets Rally in Extras

Put it in the books! The Mets win off a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th inning by Michael Conforto! Diaz made things very dicey in the 9th inning for the Mets, as he allowed runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 outs. Luckily he only allowed one run which made it 3-2 phillies in the top of the 9th, but the Mets picked up Diaz in the bottom of the 9th, with a Luis Guillorme bases loaded RBI walk and this sacrifice fly walkoff by Michael Conforto!

Mets Open Series with Struggling Phillies

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of the doubleheader today vs the Phillies! After 7 magnificent starts in a row, Taijuan Walker finally hit a rough patch last start vs the Nats. Nonetheless, he battled his way through 6.1 innings, allowing 10 hits and 4 earned runs. As for Phillies starter Aaron Nola, he’s been far from his normal self this season, with a 4.22 ERA on the season. The Mets will look to exploit that with McNeil and Conforto being acclimated back into the lineup. First pitch is at 4:10 PM EST on SNY!

Top of the Order Does Major Damage as Mets Even Series

The Mets win the series finale by a score of 7-3 and split the 4-game series vs the Braves! Tylor Megill didn’t get the win, but he looked pretty good in his major league debut tonight. He pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 4 batters. Luckily enough, the offense went off tonight, scoring 5 runs in the first 2 innings, so Megill had a lead to work with. The main catalysts of the offensive explosion tonight were Lindor, McNeil, Conforto, Guillorme and Mccann! Lindor went 2 for 4 with a 2-run homer and 3 RBI’s. The long awaited return paid dividends for Conforto tonight, as he went 2 for 4 with 2 total runs scored. In his 2nd game back from the IL batting leadoff tonight, McNeil delivered in a huge way, going 3 for 5 with an RBI-single in the 2nd inning. Luis Guillorme and James Mccann had 2 hits of their own, while Mccann had an RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning to put the Mets up 6-3. Edwin Diaz got a 5 out save for his 16th save of the year! The Mets are off tomorrow, but stay at home for a 4-game weekend series vs the Phillies starting Friday.

Megill Makes Major League Debut as Mets Look to Even Series

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for the series finale vs the Braves tonight! Tylor Megill makes his first career start with the Mets tonight! In three minor league seasons, Megill had a 3.41 ERA with a high 32.1% strikeout rate and an 8.8% walk percentage. This year, he had a 3.35 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A, but what stood out the most was his 36% strikeout rate between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Hopefully that translates to the majors for an injury riddled Met team in needs of extra arms. After being out six weeks with a right hamstring strain, Conforto is finally back in the lineup tonight! He will be batting 3rd and playing right field! The Mets offense has been nowhere to be found the last 3-4 days, so hopefully Conforto’s return sparks the offense. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Stroman Leaves Game Early with Hip Tightness as Mets Shut Out Yet Again

The Mets lose game 3 of the series vs the Braves as the injuries continue to mount and the offense continues to falter. Marcus Stroman left the game in the 2nd inning with left hip soreness. Despite Stroman leaving the game early, the Mets bullpen only gave up 3 runs in the game. However, the pitiful Mets offense only garnered 2 total hits in the game. The Mets offense was so pathetic today that one of the 2 hits they had was from pitcher Jerad Eickhoff. Between the amount of injuries the Mets are suffering and the inept offense, the Mets have hit a rough patch the last 3-4 games. With that said, the Mets get Conforto back tomorrow and can still split the series tomorrow with a W vs the Braves.

McNeil Back in Leadoff Spot as the Stroman Takes the Bump

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 3 of the series vs the Braves! Marcus Stroman looks to continue his dominance on the field, as he currently sits 12th in the league in ERA (2.35). Jonathan Villar, who suffered a calf injury yesterday, isn’t in the Mets lineup tonight. As for Michael Conforto, he was supposed to be activated before tonight’s game but that’s being pushed to tomorrow due to the shaky weather tonight. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Mets Bats Fall Flat Again in Eickhoff's Debut

The Mets dropped game 2 of the doubleheader vs the Braves tonight, but split the doubleheader on the day overall. Jerad Eickhoff pitched well in his Mets debut, pitching strong 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs, while striking out 3 batters. The Mets had their chances offensively in the last 2 innings, they just couldn’t convert with runners in scoring position. The Mets will look to bounce back tomorrow with Marcus Stroman on the hill vs Charlie Morton at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Mets Look to Take Game 2 of Doubleheader

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the doubleheader tonight! Jerad Eickhoff makes his starting pitching debut in a Mets uniform, while McNeil returns to the lineup for the first time since mid-May and is batting 3rd for your Metropolitans! First pitch is at 8:08 PM EST on SNY!

deGrom goes 5 Scoreless Innigs and Smith Clears the Bases

The Mets take game 1 of the doubleheader as de🐐 avoids injury and continues his historic season! Degrom went 5 phenomenal innings, allowing 1 hit and 0 earned runs, while striking out 6! deGrom lowers his record setting ERA to 0.50 on the season and he’s now gone 27 consecutive innings without giving up a run! The Mets only gave deGrom 1 run through 5 innings, but Dom Smith broke the game open in the bottom of the 5th inning, delivering a 3-run RBI double to right field! That put the Mets up 4-0 at the end of the 5th, but Lugo gave up a 2-run homer to Ozzie Albies in the top of the 6th inning. However, Diaz shut the door in the 9th for his 15th save on the season! The Mets begin game 2 of the doubleheader tonight as we expect Jerad Eickhoff to make his Mets starting debut!

deGrom Takes the Mound in Game 1 of Doubleheader as the Braves Come to Town

Here is your pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of the doubleheader vs the Braves today! Despite leaving last game with another injury scare, deGrom is good to go for the first game tonight! Now we can only hope and pray he doesn’t leave the game early tonight. Jeff McNeil was activated from the 10-day IL today, but he won’t be starting in Game 1 when deGrom pitches. However, he will be available off the bench for Game 1! We will see him in the starting lineup for the night cap most likely. First pitch for Game 1 of the doubleheader is at 5:10 PM EST on SNY!

Mets offensive woes continue in series finale Sunday vs Washington

The Mets drop the last game of the series vs the Nats and lose 3/4 in the series against them. Today’s game was very disappointing considering we couldn’t score more than 2 runs off Patrick Corbin. Taijuan Walker didn’t have his best stuff today, but he battled and only gave up 4 runs. Despite Walker doing what he could to keep us in the game, the bats just couldn’t get going vs Corbin. That pretty much resembled this entire series vs the Nationals - not being able to hit. The Mets will look to get back to their winning ways in a doubleheader tomorrow vs the Braves at home.

Mets look to split the series Sunday in Washington

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for Father’s Day! The Mets will be looking to split the series today with a W vs the Nats. Taijuan Walker takes the mound for the mound for the Mets today, as he’s been absolutely phenomenal. In his last 7 starts, he’s allowed 3 runs or fewer. The Mets definitely have the pitching advantage in this one going up against Patrick Corbin, who has a 5.60 ERA on the season. Dom Smith, Villar, and Mckinney are the notable players out of the lineup today. First pitch is at 1:05 PM EST on SNY!

Mets drop Game 2 of doubleheader as Gsellman and Reid-Foley falter

The Mets split the doubleheader today vs the Nationals, as they won the first game by a score of 5-1, but lost the second one 6-2. The Mets didn’t hit badly in the second game, they just didn’t get much length out of Gsellman and then Reid-Foley gave up 5 runs in 1.2 innings pitched. The Mets knew the second game was going to be a bullpen game, so they tried to get length out of the long relievers (Gsellman and Reid-Foley). The problem was Gsellman got in early trouble, then Reid-Foley dug a deeper hole for the team, allowing 5 earned runs. The Nats have won the first 2/3 games in this series, but the Mets will look to split the series tomorrow with Taijuan Walker on the hill vs Patrick Corbin. Although it’s been a disappointing series thus far, the Mets should win tomorrow and split the series given the pitching matchup. First pitch is at 1:05 PM EST on SNY!

Robert Gsellman makes his first start of the year in Game 2 of Doubleheader

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 2 of the doubleheader tonight vs the Nats! Robert Gsellman gets his first start of the year for the Metropolitans in this one! This game 2 lineup is a whole lot different than the first lineup the Mets had today. McCann, Pillar, Drury, Peraza and Almora are all in the lineup for game 2. Albert Almora was activated from the 10-day IL for tonight’s game, as he will be batting 8th and starting in center tonight for the Mets! Almora had been on the 10-day IL since May 12 due to a left shoulder bruise. The Mets will be going up against Jon Lester, who is 0-2 with a 4.09 ERA on the year. First pitch is at 6:05 PM EST on SNY!

Mets Take Game 1 of Doubleheader against Ross. Lindor 5 RBIs

Put it in the books! The Mets take game 1 of the doubleheader behind another outstanding outing from David Peterson and a phenomenal offensive performance from Francisco Lindor! Peterson proved his last start vs the Cubs was no fluke, as he followed it up today with 4.2 strong innings, allowing 1 earned run and just 2 hits, while striking out 6 batters. Francisco Lindor was the entire offense today, finishing 3 for 4 with two 2-run homers in the 1st inning and the 5th inning and he ripped an RBI-single to right in the 3rd inning. Game 2 of the doubleheader begins at 6:05 PM EST on SNY! A starter for the Mets has yet to be announced for game 2, but i’m assuming it will be Gsellman or Reid-Foley!

Peterson Looks to build off of his best start as a Met

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of the doubleheader today! After struggling mightily for the majority of the season, Peterson finally showed out in his last start vs the Cubs, allowing just 1 hit and 0 earned runs in 6 innings against them. He’ll look to continue that success today against Nats starter Joe Ross, who’s coming off 2 straight quality starts vs the Phillies and Giants. As for the Mets lineup, Kevin Pillar and James McCann aren’t starting in game 1. Instead, Mason Williams and Tomas Nido have cracked the lineup. First pitch is at 1:05 PM EST on Pix 11!

Mets Shut Out for Second Straight Game!

The Mets drop game 1 of the series in Washington as the bats continue to stay ice cold. In the last two games, the Mets have a total of 4 hits and 0 runs. This loss is hard to blame Diaz for because we gave him no run support and he’s been brilliant all year. Despite the loss, the major takeaway from this game is the turnaround of Joey Lucchesi. After being a major liability in the first 2 months of the season, Lucchesi has a 1.19 ERA in his last five starts. Lucchesi had a 7.32 ERA about 2 and a half weeks ago and now his ERA sits at 4.46. Tremendous turnaround from Lucchesi after it seemed like he had no chance of staying in the rotation at the beginning of the season. The Mets will look to break out of their offensive funk tomorrow in a doubleheader day. The first game is at 1:05 PM and the second game is at 6:05 PM!

Mets Open up 4 Game Series against Last place Nationals

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 1 of a 4-game road stand in Washington! Joey Lucchesi has shockingly pitched well in his last 4 games, allowing 1 run or fewer in each of those starts. However, he has a tough task tonight against a Nationals team that has won 4 straight. As for the Mets lineup tonight, Guillorme, Nido and Mason Williams are all in the lineup for Peraza, McCann and Pillar. Let’s start off the series with a W! First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SN

Mets Fail to give Stroman Run Support as Mets fall in Game 4

The Mets fail to complete the 4-game sweep, but take 3/4 vs the Cubs in the series. Stroman was extraordinary once again, the run support just wasn’t there for him today. The Mets garnered just 2 total hits in the entire game. Despite the loss, this was a great series overall, winning 3/4 against a Cubs team that was red hot coming into the series. The Mets remain in first place by 4.5 games and head to Washington tomorrow for the start of a 4-game road series!

Mets Look to Sweep Cubs in game 4 of Series

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 4 of the series vs the Cubs as the Mets look to complete the 4-game sweep! deGrom exits early as Mets take game 3 of series

Put it in the books! The Mets take the series as they win game 3 vs the Cubs. While this was a great overall team win, the Mets lost their ace to injury again. This time de🐐 left the game due to right shoulder soreness. Before leaving the game after the 3rd, deGrom was cruising, allowing 0 hits and 0 earned runs, while striking out 8 batters. He also contributed with the bat once again, delivering an RBI single to right in the 2nd inning. Kevin Pillar and Dom Smith were the big contributors offensively, as Dom Smith hit a solo homer in the 3rd inning and Pillar went 2 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI’s. The Mets will go for the 4-game sweep tomorrow at 7:10 PM EST when Marcus Stroman takes the hill vs Kyle Hendricks.

Mets Look to take series in game 3 against Cubs on deGrom Day

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup for game 3 of the series vs the Cubs as the Mets look to take the series with de🐐 on the mound tonight! After departing last game with right flexor tendinitis after the 6th inning, deGrom is good to go for tonight’s game! Despite the injury he was dealing with last game, de🐐 still struck out 10 Padres and only gave up 1 hit in 6 scoreless frames. Tonight, the Mets are going up against a minor leaguer Robert Stock, who got recalled to pitch today for the Cubs. This should be a game the Mets easily cruise in, but we know how the Mets usually fare against no named pitchers making their debuts. As for the lineup, it’s very similar to yesterday besides Nido handling the catching duties and batting 8th for McCann today. Let’s take the series tonight with de🐐! First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST on SNY!

Walker Pitches a Gem with 12Ks as Mets take Game 2 of Series

Put it in the books! The Mets win game 2 of the home series vs the Cubs behind another phenomenal outing by Taijuan Walker. I mean, what else can you say about this guy?! This is now the 7th straight game where Walker has allowed 3 runs or fewer in a game. He’s also given up 2 runs or less in 6 of his last 7 starts! This is just unfathomable to see how much Walker has blossomed Mets so far in his first year with the Mets. Just when you thought Walker was going to have a rough start after giving up a 2-run homer to Javier Baez in the 3rd inning, he settled in for 7 total innings and didn’t give up anymore runs after the Baez homer. Pete Alonso delivered all 3 RBI’s for the Mets tonight, with a 2-run RBI single in the 3rd inning and a sacrifice fly RBI in the bottom of the 5th inning. That’s all the runs the Mets would need tonight, as Walker went 7 spectacular innings and Seth Lugo got the 6 out save! Game 3 of the series is tomorrow at 7:10 PM EST, as De 🐐 takes the hill for the Metropolitans!

Mets Look to take second game in series with Walker on Mound

Here is your Mets pitching and lineup for game 2 of the home series vs the Cubs! The Mets took game 1 yesterday by a score of 5-2 behind a phenomenal start from David Peterson! Taijuan Walker will look to follow suit with a similar performance today. Walker has been absolutely magnificent, as he’s allowed 3 runs or fewer in his last 6 games and holds a 2.07 ERA on the season. As for the lineup, it’s the same exact one as yesterday. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST and can be seen on ESPN or SNY!

Peterson goes 6 innings of shutdown ball

Put it in the books! The Mets take game 1 of the series vs the Cubs, as they FINALLY get a productive outing from David Peterson! Peterson only surrendered one total hit to the Cubs in this game, throwing 6 scoreless innings, while allowing 0 earned runs and striking out 3 batters. The offense put Peterson’s start to good use, with RBI singles from both James McCann and Brandon Drury, a solo bomb from Dom Smith, and a 2-run RBI double from Kevin Pillar. Edwin Diaz shut the door in the 9th inning for his 13th save on the year! This was a huge win because it easily could’ve been a game the Mets would drop with David Peterson pitching. Instead, we won game 1 and we have Walker-Degrom-Stroman pitching the next 3 games vs the Cubs! Tomorrow we have Taijuan Walker on the hill vs Alec Mills at 7:10 PM EST for game 2 of the series!

Mets look to take momentum into 4 game series against the first place Cubs

Here is your Mets pitching matchup and lineup tonight for game 1 of a 4-game home stand vs the Chicago Cubs! The Cubs are red hot coming into this series, winning 5 straight and 6 of their last 7 games. That doesn’t bode well for Mets starting pitcher David Peterson, who hasn’t gone past 2 innings in both of his last 2 starts vs the Orioles and Dbacks. The Mets are going up against Jake Arrieta, who hasn’t been spectacular himself either, but pitched well in his last outing vs the Padres. As for the lineup tonight, Billy Mckinney is back and starting in right field after getting scratched three days ago before the game vs the Padres with right knee soreness. James McCann also returns to the lineup after having a day off yesterday. First pitch is at 7:10 PM EST and the game can be seen on ESPN or SNY!
